Questions people ask us
How do I know a plumber is licensed?
Ask for the license number and look it up with the state licensing office. Our license is in the footer of every page.
What should I do first if a pipe bursts?
Shut off the water at the main shutoff, open a tap to drain the line, and call. Turn off the power if water reaches outlets or the panel.
Where is my main shutoff?
Where the water line enters the house, often a basement or crawlspace wall, or in the pump house on a well. Find it before you need it.
What does a visit cost, and what does it include?
We tell you before we come. The pricing page explains what decides a price and what the estimate leaves out.
Do you charge more for nights and weekends?
We keep office hours and don't run a night crew. Leave a message after we close; we call back first thing.
Will I get a price before you start?
Yes, in writing, by text or email. If the job changes we stop and tell you first.
How long will a job take?
A pump-out depends on the tank and the access. Well pumps and permits take longer. We give you a window before we start.
Do you pull permits?
For jobs that need one, yes. Holly files our side and tells you what the county needs from you.
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most household tanks every 3 to 5 years, sooner for a small tank or a big household. The calendar page has the detail.
What should never go down the drain?
Wipes of any kind, grease, paint, solvents, cat litter and medications.
My pressure tank keeps cycling. Is that serious?
It makes the pump work harder and can shorten its life. Call us and say what you hear.
Is my house at risk for lead, galvanized or polybutylene pipe?
Houses built before the mid 1980s can have lead solder or galvanized lines. Ask us to look, and the EPA has a page on lead in drinking water.
What areas and hours do you cover?
Missoula, Ravalli and Mineral County towns, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. The service area page has the list.
